Between then and now I am sure a few tutorials of how to hack it using Wine have appeared, but dealing with Wine and getting things to work right can be a bit tricky, and definitely not for everyone. I search about 2 years ago or so for a solution and came up with NOTHING at all on how to accomplish this. Now Linux DOES have an open source equivalent called Moonlight, however it does not have DRM (Digital Rights Management) support which Netflix requires to run. The root cause for Netflix not working on Linux is Microsoft Silverlight, the viewer Netflix uses to stream the movies (Its a plugin like Flash). Please go throw the below links for more information.Well this has plagued me for years, trying to run Netflix on Linux. In the bottom left corner of the page, click the Relaunch Now button.Īfter the release of Chrome version 45, you’ll need to use an alternate web browser to load content that requires a NPAPI plugin. In the window that opens, click the link that says Enable under. In the address bar at the top of the screen, type chrome://flags/#enable-npapi.If you must use a NPAPI plugin, there’s a temporary workaround that will work until Chrome version 45 is released later in 2015: To enable Silverlight plugin in Google Chrome, please follow the steps below. Note: By default Silverlight plugin is disabled is Google Chrome because of NPAPI deprecation.

Netflix silverlight installed but not working 32 bit#
Note that the latest 32 bit version which is offered by default from Microsoft did not fix the crashing for me. Then I downloaded this file and installed. I went to control panel, programs, uninstall program, removed silverlight. I don't use hotmail, so I'd like to hear from others if this procedure will fix the crashing in hotmail too. I started looking into this because the following page would crash in chrome for me because of the silverlight content: Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, SP1, fully patched
